I’m a bit.ly users a well. I agree with Teresa that the tracking feature puts in the lead, but I will check out Bre.ad. I do a lot of my soc media stuff through TweetDeck & RockMelt so they have automatic link shortening which saves a click or two.

Good tips! I’ve used bit.ly before but when I can’t get to it, I’ve found that by using the mobile version of a social network from my phone (i.e. Twitter) I have an automatic link shortening feature. And some apps on my Ipad also automatically shorten links as well.

Another thing I look for when I’m trying to shorten and share a link, is the “share” button on a post or website. Most times, these widgets have automatic link shorteners as well.

Great topic! I still don’t understand how to shorten the links. I would like to do that for my email/website signatures and have not figured out how yet. This is relevant info and I am sure someone would benefit from a youtube instructional or something. Just a thought.
